JazzRockPop from Jena: A club concert full of groove and musical diversity
On Friday, November 6, 2026, Kassablanca in Jena will be transformed into a stage for young talents, experienced teachers, and the creative energy of the Music and Art School Jena. The JazzRockPop department presents a varied club concert featuring a big band, jazz choirs, student bands, ensembles, and soloists.
When the big band gets the hall grooving
The powerful opening is made by the Big Band R&BBees. Brass sections, rhythmic precision, and a powerful sound create the live atmosphere where jazz, rock, and pop become immediately palpable. The orchestrated dynamics of the band connect grooving bass lines with striking arrangements and energetic stage performances.
Vocal jazz choirs and personal sound colors
With Jazz for Fun and Blue Moon Voices, two jazz choirs are on the program. Multi-voiced harmonies, finely tuned synchronization, and captivating vocal arrangements add colorful accents. In addition, soloists and bands from among the music students will bring their individual musical perspectives to the evening.
Jazz, rock, and pop in a versatile stage program
The club concert showcases the full spectrum of the JazzRockPop department. Different line-ups encounter changing sound aesthetics: from grooving ensembles to intimate solo moments to rocking band performances. This creates a concert experience at Kassablanca that combines musical education with genuine live energy.
The grand finale with the teacher band
To conclude, the teacher band of the Jazz, Rock, and Pop department takes over. Their performance marks the musical conclusion of an evening that brings together generations, experience levels, and genres. The result is a lively audience atmosphere with much joy of playing, closeness to the stage, and the special flair of Kassablanca.
