New Works, Diverse Media: Jena Art Collection Opens “Wish Pictures”

With the vernissage „Wish Pictures. Acquisitions of the Jena Art Collection”, the Jena Art Collection invites you to the opening of an exhibition in its rooms at Markt 7 on November 6, 2026. The focus is on recent acquisitions of the Jena Art Collection, which can be viewed together for the first time on this occasion or as part of the new presentation.

The exhibition provides insight into the diversity of artistic media represented in the collection. You can see paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, sculptures, videos, and installations. This creates a broad exhibition experience that brings together different forms of artistic expression. Visitors can explore the works in their respective medium and gain an impression of the newer additions to the art collection.

Vernissage at the Jena Art Collection

A vernissage offers the opportunity to experience an exhibition directly at its start. “Wish Pictures” focuses on the most recent acquisitions and makes it visible how an art collection is expanded through new works. The presentation connects classical image media such as painting, drawing, and printmaking with photography, sculpture, video, and space-related installations.

The event takes place at the Jena Art Collection located centrally at Markt 7. Admission to the vernissage is free. Since the provided information does not mention a start time, interested parties should check the official event page of the Jena Art Collection for current information on the timing and visiting conditions.

Whether as an introduction to the current exhibition season, a visit for art enthusiasts, or an opportunity to get to know new works from the collection: the vernissage invites you to explore the various works and media of the exhibition in a relaxed atmosphere. The Jena Art Collection offers the perfect setting in the heart of the city.
