Game On in Jena: Play together, marvel, and find new friends
When the console starts and the first board games are on the table, a diverse family experience for children up to 12 years begins in the Ernst-Abbe-Library Jena. At Game On - Board Games and Gaming, digital play and analog game ideas come together.
Gaming and board games under one roof
In the workshop on the ground floor, children can play together or against each other on the Nintendo Switch. Those who prefer cards, dice, and game boards will discover a selection of board games. Thus, every child will find an opportunity to actively participate, understand rules, and contribute their own game ideas.
Playing together strengthens social skills
The child-friendly offer combines joy, curiosity, and collaborative learning. While playing together, children practice appropriate sharing, listening, waiting, winning, and losing. The learning experience happens almost incidentally: children make decisions, solve tasks, and forge social contacts in a relaxed atmosphere.
A safe place for curious players
The event takes place in the workshop of the Ernst-Abbe-Library on level 0. The clearly designated event area provides orientation and offers a protected setting for focused fun. No registration is required. The offer is aimed at children up to 12 years old.
Free entry and uncomplicated visit
Game On is an open family offer from the Ernst-Abbe-Library Jena. Admission is free, and prior registration is not necessary. Families can spontaneously drop by and experience how board games, digital challenges, and children's laughter become valuable time together.
Conclusion: Game On brings children in Jena together playfully and combines digital media with classic board games. Families can look forward to a joyful afternoon filled with learning fun, encounters, and varied play moments.
