Gamezone: Play together, discover and have fun in Jena
Grab your controller, choose your favorite game and start with friends: At the Gamezone in the Ernst-Abbe-Library Jena, teens experience a relaxed gaming afternoon in the youth library.
Gaming tower and shared gaming experience
At the gaming tower, video games are available for joint play. The Gamezone connects digital media with real encounters: Young people can play together, try out strategies, exchange ideas and discover new game concepts. This creates shared time, children's laughter, and a lively sense of community.
Age-appropriate and child-friendly support
The offering is aimed at teenagers aged 12 and older. The age-appropriate design supports a safe and fair learning experience in dealing with digital games. Besides reaction time and concentration, communication, consideration, and solving problems together are central.
Borrowing controllers for a deposit
Participants can receive controllers at the info desk in the youth area for a deposit. Acceptable deposits include a library card, a student ID, a monthly ticket, or an ID card. This keeps the process clear and well organized.
Alternative for younger gaming fans
For younger gaming enthusiasts, the Ernst-Abbe-Library offers Game On. It takes place on Thursdays from 3 to 6 PM in the workshop and provides children up to 12 years old with a suitable opportunity to play together and make social contacts.
Conclusion: Digital learning experience with friends
The Gamezone offers free family and youth programming with video games, interaction, and shared time for teens aged 12 and over. Those who want to experience gaming not alone, but in an open library atmosphere, will find a fitting meeting point at the gaming tower.
