Gamezone in Jena: Play, discover, and have fun together
On Wednesday, November 11, 2026, the youth library of the Ernst-Abbe-Library Jena will be the meeting place for gaming enthusiasts aged 12 and above. From 3 PM to 6 PM, the gaming tower will be ready for friends to play video games together and enjoy a varied communal time.
Gaming as a family experience for youth
Gamezone combines digital games with interaction, communication, and team spirit. Young people can play together, try out strategies, and strengthen their skills in collaboration. A lively atmosphere with curiosity, concentration, and children's laughter is created – a modern cultural experience in the middle of the library.
Age-appropriate and well-organized
The offer is aimed at youth aged 12 and above, making it age-appropriate to the interests of young people. Controllers can be borrowed at the information desk in the youth area with a deposit. The deposit can be a library card, student ID, a monthly ticket, or an ID card. The distribution at the information desk ensures clear processes and a reliable framework.
Playing together and strengthening social skills
Cooperative gaming leads to valuable learning experiences: making agreements, adhering to rules, finding solutions, and treating each other fairly. The educationally meaningful use of digital games can promote media competence, reaction ability, and communication. Gamezone offers young people space to share their interests and make new contacts.
Alternative for younger gaming fans
Younger gaming enthusiasts also find a suitable offer at the Ernst-Abbe-Library. The format Game on takes place every Thursday from 3 PM to 6 PM in the workshop. Families can thus choose an age-appropriate offer that better fits the respective stage of development.
Conclusion: Digital adventures in the youth library
Gamezone promises a varied afternoon with video games, community, and learning fun. Youth aged 12 and over experience in the Ernst-Abbe-Library Jena how real encounters arise from playing together. Those who love digital games and want to meet friends should discover this free family and youth offer live.
