Reading for Children: Stories full of imagination in Jena

Dive into the world of stories together

When children listen curiously, discover pictures, and let their imaginations run free, reading aloud becomes a special family experience. At the Ernst-Abbe-Bibliothek, Lobeda district library, children aged three and up can look forward to a child-friendly story hour every Friday.

Stories that spark children's curiosity

From 4 PM onwards, books, language, and shared listening take center stage. Reading aloud gives children valuable time together and playfully supports their language development, concentration, and imagination. Each story opens up new characters, places, and adventures.

Ages appropriate and family-friendly

The offer is aimed at children aged three and up and aligns with an important developmental phase: children expand their vocabulary, learn to listen attentively, and develop a joy for books. The calm atmosphere of a library creates a protected environment for a relaxed family experience filled with children's laughter, wonder, and fun learning.

Just come by

The event is free of charge. No prior registration is required, allowing families to participate spontaneously. Parents and children can enjoy a short break from daily life together and discover how alive stories become in a library.

Conclusion

The reading for children in Lobeda combines education, imagination, and shared time in an especially accessible way. Families can look forward to a warm, age-appropriate reading time. Now listen to the stories and experience the joy of reading together live.
