Tinkering plus 1: Creative Family Time at the Ernst-Abbe-Library Jena
When children build, test, and develop their own ideas, a library visit becomes a true family experience. At Tinkering plus 1 at the Ernst-Abbe-Library Jena, the workshop invites you to spend time together filled with curiosity, children's laughter, and fun learning.
A Workshop Full of Possibilities
From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, electronic construction kits, Kapla blocks, a marble run, a wooden train, and magnetic building sets are available. Young and old tinkers build their own constructions, try out materials, and discover how things work in a playful way.
A New Discovery Every Tuesday
The special plus regularly brings new impulses to the workshop. Learning robots, creative folding books, and changing craft ideas connect practical experimentation with imagination and curiosity. On November 10th, families can look forward to an open participation offer for their own ideas and small successes.
Age-appropriate and Pedagogically Valuable
The offer is aimed at children from 5 years old and adults well into old age. The open design supports age-appropriate learning, fine motor skills, spatial thinking, and independent development. Children observe, plan, change, and test their ideas step by step. Valuable learning experiences are created in a protected environment.
Discover Together in Any Weather
The event takes place indoors in the workshop on level 0. This way, families experience a manageable space for creative research, building, and crafting. The Ernst-Abbe-Library combines education, safety, and communal experiences in the heart of Jena.
Conclusion: Learning Fun with Children's Laughter
Tinkering plus 1 offers families a varied afternoon full of wonder, creativity, and shared time. Those who want to build, experiment, and see new ideas grow with children in Jena will experience a child-friendly family program with real learning fun at the EAB.
