On aesthetically designed black-and-white photo panels, you will encounter people affected by dementia, as well as committed volunteers who build bridges into everyday life as mentors. Come by, take a moment, and let these images and words affect you. Everyday and Amateur Photography in Jena” invites visitors to discover the diverse history of local photographic culture – from the beginnings of amateur photography through the photography circles of the GDR to today's image practices in social media. The central question is how photography shapes our interaction: as a medium of creative expression, as a medium of memory, and as a social link. Historical photographs from the collections of the city museum, private archives, and photo clubs meet current works by social media photographers – an exciting dialogue between past and present.
